Steve Rumery
Director of IPAC
Dr. Steve Rumery is an Associate Research Professor at the University of Connecticut (UConn) and director of IPAC, a non-profit, applied research center that provides evidence-based consulting services. IPAC focuses on delivering “action insights” to leaders and organizations in the areas of leadership, culture, and sustainable engagement. As a scientist-practitioner, Steve has developed practical frameworks that empower leaders and organizations to evolve, including the engagement battery, the restorative leadership style, and the ARC (adaptive-regenerative cycle) for personal transformation.
Steve recently joined UConn after a 30-year career as an applied researcher, advisor, and executive coach for leaders and organizations globally. Steve has deep experience in a number of areas, including:
- Executive assessment processes for senior leaders and boards.
- Executive coaching and development of top talent, including high potentials.
- Design, administration, and interpretation of assessments, including multi-rater surveys for leaders, culture scans, and employee engagement surveys.
- Applied research on how leaders and organizations adapt to disruption, including accelerating the adoption of AI and leading through mergers and organizational change.
Steve has served a variety of exceptional clients, including Bloomberg LP, C40 Cities, Evercore, GAF, Goldman Sachs, InterAction, KKR, ONE Campaign, Pfizer, Raytheon (Collins Aerospace), SpaceX, and many others. Through his engagements with global, nonprofit boards, he has also collaborated with a variety of celebrities, politicians, and luminaries.
